Reading and Writing Support with TechnologyTools to support the Big Five for literacy (Elementary) - Don’t miss the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet Secondary ELA technology resources Formative Assessments with Technology -Formative assessments are those that are embedded within lessons, quick checks of student understanding and are used to help determine the “next steps” for both the teacher and the student. Answer Garden Answer Garden Tutorial Great for brainstorming, 1-2 word responses to a question. Answers display in a word cloud with most frequent responses in bold print. Go Formative 20 Ways to Use Go Formative Works well for “quick checks” and Exit Tickets. Teachers get live results and can display student answers as well as respond to individual students. Google Classroom How to Post a Question In addition to longer assignments, a single multiple choice or short answer question can be posted within Google Classroom. First of all, who are "we"? Dan Rothwell is beginning his third year as an Instructional Technology TOSA and 11th year in the district. He was a middle school math teacher at Memorial Middle School for nine years. Cindy Drouhard is starting her first year as an Instructional Technology TOSA, after spending 16 years as a middle school science teacher, most recently at Timber Ridge. Win a Dutch Bros. We will share our ideas and resources next month, but we know there are some great things happening in the classroom and we would love to see them. Please email Dan and Cindy examples of formative assessment tools you are using, student examples, suggestions and tips to help and encourage others using technology in their instruction. Chromebook Tips and Reminders-If you have not yet received your Chromebook, please sign up for a training session. All the remaining trainings will be at the DO at 4pm. You May Have Noticed....Have you seen an increase in the number of "laptops" out and about? This year we have deployed 9 carts of Chromebooks(not to be confused with a normal laptop) throughout the district. 5 of those carts are currently part of our Chromebook Tryout Contest and are moving from building to building every three weeks.
